My love for decorating was awakened during a high school Home Economics project for which I had to assemble paint chips, fabric swatches and photos of furnishings to create a “living space”.

I have been captivated by the arrangement of furnishings and accessories in all the rooms I have occupied; from my bedroom as a teen to all the various rooms in homes I have rented or owned over the years.

In 2001, I began chasing my decorating dreams by starting “Final Touches”. Soon I began to pinpoint my affinity for redesign; creating
new and exciting rooms using the very furnishings and accessories that a client already owned. I discovered joy in the challenge of taking their treasures “out of the box” and placing them back into their rooms in a way which they themselves could not visualize, but once seen, found instant delight.

In 2005, the desire to perfect this craft led me to an intensive training course in redesign and home staging in the Chicago area taught by Kris Porter and Jane Douglas, owners of “Redesigning Interiors” and co-founders of the nationally renowned Society of Decorating Professionals (the SDP). Additionally, I have been trained and certified in the “Color With No Regrets” by “the queen of decorating” JoAnne Lenart-Weary, owner of “One-Day Decorating”, who is also a co-founder of “the SDP”.

With the foundation laid by these dynamic industry leaders, my roots have been firmly planted and I look forward to them growing until the sidewalks are “cracked and raised!”
